Flagship Flex4G-10000 80GHz system supports cross-polarization interference cancellation (XPIC) technology to enable network operators to optimize network performance and spectrum
San Diego, CA – September 18, 2018 – BridgeWave Communications, a market leader in 5G-ready wireless backhaul systems, today announced that company’s flagship 80GHz system, the Flex4G-10000, supports cross-polarization interference cancellation (XPIC) technology, to double link capacity in spectrum-limited or congested markets. Using XPIC, a network operator can assign the same frequency to both the vertical and horizontal polarization of an RF channel, effectively doubling data throughput in the same channel. This optional capability is particularly important for network operators in global regions where telecommunications regulators are limiting spectrum efficiency by prohibiting the use of larger channel bandwidths in favor of smaller channels. XPIC is also advantageous in areas where spectrum is highly congested, enabling network operators to avoid interference while transmitting twice the data throughput.
Until now, ultra-high capacity radio systems like the Flex4G-10000 required 2000MHz bandwidth to provide 10Gbps capacity. Using XPIC frequency re-use technology, the Flex4G-10000 system can now provide up to 10.5Gbps in just 1000Mhz bandwidth, or up to 6.0Gbps in just 500MHz bandwidth, doubling link capacity. Operators in overly subscribed areas such as Europe and the Middle East, as well as those in spectrum-congested dense urban environments around the world no longer have to compromise the capacity demanded by bandwidth hungry customers.
